Taper Leg Box
Quarter-Sawn White Oak & Purpleheart
Dimensions 11 5/8" x 6 5/8" x 4 1/8"
White Oak
– North America
-
Has a light to medium brown color, though there can be a
fair amount of variation in color. Red
Oak tends
to be slightly redder, but is by no means a reliable
method of determining
the type of oak.
Has medium-to-large
pores and a fairly coarse grain.
Purpleheart
- Central and
South America (from Mexico down to southern Brazil)
- When freshly cut the heartwood of Purpleheart is a
dull grayish/purplish brown. Upon exposure the wood
becomes a deeper eggplant purple. With further age and
exposure to UV light, the wood becomes a dark brown with
a hint of purple. Has
a medium texture with small pores. The grain is usually
straight, but can also be wavy or irregular.
